7 Must Do Summits of Washington

So you want to be a Mountaineer. You better consider spending some time in the great state of Washington. Rock, ice, glaciers, volcanos, Washington has a lot to offer when it comes to mountaineering and climbing. We know there are a lot to choose from but here are our 7 favorite summits in Washington. Word to the wise, these are not afternoon hikes. Prepare vigorously for these climbs and be sure to bring all of the gear necessary to safely ascend these mountains.

 


Mount Rainier

Mount Rainier is the highest summit in Washington. As you would expect, it is not easy to reach the top. It requires mountaineering skills and preparation. But totally worth it to stand on top. Learn More

Mount St. Helens

Mount Shuksan

As one of Washington’s highest peaks, Mount Shuksan is strikingly beautiful. Mount Shuksan offers 14 different routes varying in difficulty. Pronouncing it is almost as hard as climbing it. Learn More

Mount Olympus is uniquely remembered for its difficulty to summit. This is mostly due to the weather patterns in the area, the difficult terrain, and the long approach.
